leather affair

After spending 2.5 hours at the gym tonight, I allowed myself to come home and pour over my magazines that I have been neglecting and swoon over my current leather crushes.

Here is the Alexander Wang Rocco Bag that is fabulous in all it's glory. I enjoy the black because I think paired with the studs on the bottom, the overall rocker affect is easily achieved. Here are some stylish ladies who also loco for the Rocco (hah, couldn't help it).

So while the black is my first pick, I can't help but love this lighter blue color.

Now this next one is Rebecca Minkoff, another of my absolute favorites. She is brilliant with handbags, her Morning After Bag and Clutch are both to die for, stylish and chic.

While I adore those two staples of the RM line, here is the one I truly love. The Rebecca Minkoff Swoon Hobo, it's mottled grey color and worn in feel really do it for me. I'm a sucker for a hobo...it has a slightly more relaxed look than the Morning After Bag.

Fall in love

Ahhh while the weather here in Baltimore is still quite balmy, I can feel fall and it's right around the corner. I am itching to pull on the layers and pile on some scarves. Here are a few obsessions I already have for the colder weather.

While I don't normally jump on the trend bandwagon, this season's love for the cape has me right on board. Here are a couple that I enjoy...

I love this Morton Cape by Spiewak and the Kezi Cape by General Assembly. Both are casual and come in neutral colors. (Side note: the website they are found on, Need Supply Co, is one of my absolute favs).

Here is the Fidelity Cape that I found on Steven Alan, another great online shop. Unfortunately, the only color left is the herringbone, but hopefully the others will come back in stock (navy, red and green/orange plaid).

Now I have a boot obsession which I've already explained here and here. So here is my new baby for this season. I mean, I barely have words to describe how killer these boots are. I'll let the pictures do the talking for these Jeffrey Campbell boots.

I mean would you look at the exposed zipper in the back with the leather laced up along side it. I personally prefer the brown but the black are also wonderful. Jeffrey Campbell knows how to make shoes that is for sure.

spring is here...

...and that mean's time to prepare for some rainy days. I've already shared my love of Hunter Boots here. Next comes the trench. The one good thing about trench coats is that they never go out of style. This season they just happen to be everywhere. Personally, I'm loving it...here are some wonderful choices.

Nordstrom has a wide selection, some of my picks are the very classic looking Calvin Klein in stone, the Ellen Tracy in yellow, and the MICHAEL Michael Kors in khaki.

Now, you know I had to put the trench coat icon that is Burberry...and how adorable is Emma Watson. LOVE her as the face of their new campaign.

Just in case you already own a trench and are looking for another rainy day coat. I have the North Face Grace jacket in black, and I absolutely adore it.

Slip on a trench coat and some galoshes and go jump in some puddles.

shopbop lovin'

I could (and have) spend hours on Shopbop...it has amazing designers, well known and up and coming. It also has fantastic tools that help you keep track of your favorite designers and favorite pieces. One of my absolute favorites is Rebecca Taylor...what I would do to fill my closet with her...

If I haven't already said it, Marc Jacobs is a brilliant man. He has an amazing collection every season. I prefer the Marc by Marc Jacobs line because it is more affordable and a little more for every day wear. Not to mention his collection includes everything from handbags to jewelry to party dresses...

OSCAR

So I did not get a chance to watch the Oscars...however, I did scour the internet the following day to drool over all the fashion. Above(and below) is Rachel McAdams in an Elie Saab Haute Couture dress that I am in LOVE with...

"on the street"

The Sartorialist is a blog that everyone should know, regardless of how important fashion is to you. I adore Scott Schuman, he is a phenomenal photographer and he has an amazing eye for style. And I don't mean style as in the newest trend, but he can look at someone and see their personal style and appreciate all the little details. It also doesn't hurt that he is very sexy. Every time I look at his blog I pull my favorite photos out and here are some of them.

...love the sundress (and the dog of course)

I'm always searching for that perfect black bag, just like this one...

The demin shirt, the shoes, the scarf...I wish all men could pull this off.

Ohhhh that Chanel bag is to die for. literally.

Same girl as the first photo, impeccable style.

Oh those strong shoulders. I'm swooning a bit.

She's not as sweet as Whitney but Olivia P sure knows how to dress.

Love the layering.

The best kind of arm candy.

...LOVE the nude heels. They make the outfit amazing. I need some. ASAP.

I love how she can pull off the shorts with heels.

I mean how adorable is this man. Not too mention he has great style.

Not sure why this pic is so big but regardless, I love all the grey.

knockin' boots

So I broke my leg about a year and a half ago. I won't go into the ridiculous details about how it happened but I will say it left quite a mark. I now have a metal plate, some screws and one outstanding scar. Thankfully, I have never been a huge fan of heels. I would wear them to weddings and other appropriate events but I'm much more of a sandals and boots girl. I can now blame my ever growing collection of boots on my gimpy leg. Now I've already shared my love for fringe boots in the previous post, but let me tell you, the love doesn't stop there. Here are some more FAB boots...

Above and below are the Steve Madden Intyce boot which I do not personally own but I do have a similar pair that I've had for years. Steve Madden makes great boots, not to mention they are very wallet friendly.

Jumping in the rain never sounded more wonderful...try the Hunter boots in the Original or High Gloss (below in Lava Orange)

I love my Hunters just as much as Kate Moss that I wore them down to the ground...unfortunately I wasn't tooling around in the VIP tents at a muddy music festival, I was just at the barn with the muddy horses. I may invest in the short ones in classic black. Just to try something new...

I could go on and on about the other obvious boots like Uggs (I don't care how ugly they may be, they are warm and comfortable...confession: I have napped on the couch in them many times) and Minnetonka's but I won't. I did however, save the best for last.

I am in love with the Frye Paige Tall Riding boot in grey (of course). They are perfectly distressed and have impeccable detail in the leather overlays. Polished but rugged and they belong in my closet.
